The situation

Reimagining business cards for a digital-first, eco-conscious generation

The idea behind Tapping Card was simple but ambitious: eliminate the inefficiency and waste of traditional business cards through a smart, interactive, and environmentally responsible solution. The product would need to bridge hardware (NFC cards) with software (mobile and web), creating a seamless and engaging user experience.

The founders needed a development partner capable of bringing this vision to life through a scalable e-commerce platform, robust mobile apps, and intuitive user interfaces. Beyond technical execution, the mission called for a digital experience that reflected both the brand’s values and its forward-thinking identity.

Integrated ecosystem: web store, NFC-powered profiles, and full user control

We developed a complete digital ecosystem around the Tapping Card product, aligning convenience, flexibility, and environmental consciousness into one unified platform.

Key components of the solution included:
  • Custom e-commerce store – A high-performance online shop designed to support international sales and digital product management, tailored with advanced custom code to meet unique functionality requirements.
  • iOS and Android apps – Native mobile applications where users can create accounts, pair their card, and fully personalize their digital profile including links, bios, social handles, and color themes.
  • NFC and QRConnect integration – Every card uses NFC technology to instantly open the user’s profile in a browser. For wider compatibility, we also introduced QRConnect—allowing profile sharing via QR code for devices without NFC.
  • Live preview and customization – Users can update their profiles on the fly, with changes reflected immediately. This dynamic setup ensures that one physical card remains relevant for years.
  • Eco-driven mission – Tapping Card reduces the need for printed business cards and reinforces its commitment to sustainability by planting trees with every purchase.

Throughout development, we worked closely with the Tapping Card team to fine-tune every interaction, from onboarding flows in the mobile app to frictionless checkouts in the store. The emphasis was always on intuitive usability, clean design, and a consistent brand voice across all digital touchpoints.

Since launch, Tapping Card has grown from a concept into a fast-scaling product embraced by professionals across industries. The e-commerce store processes orders with ease, the mobile apps maintain high user engagement, and the real-time customization options have received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
